Summer of 1971, Madison, Wisconsin
Twenty-five charter members contributed $10 each for the start-up expenses as Southern Wisconsin Snowmobile Racing Association (S.W.S.R.A.) was born. Registration and payback was completed out of Frank Hess's old red VW van. S.W.S.R.A. was deferential doing oval in the winter and drags in the summer. Race directors changed successively.
